"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."
Matthew 5:16.
From our Scripture above, "good works" are works such as, healing the sick, casting out devils....
Jesus was known for good works. The Bible says in Acts 10:38, "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him."
This was how Jesus was known. He was always doing miracles, preaching the gospel, healing the sick, casting out devils and so on.
How are you known? The Bible says in 1 John 4:17,
"Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world."
As He is so are we right now in this world. We ought to be doing the same things Jesus did or should I say, the same things Jesus is doing because He is still doing miracles today, He still healing the sick and casting out devils. We ought to copy Him and do as He is doing today. We ought to show people what Jesus is like, we ought to show people Jesus.
Whenever you find yourself in a place, people should experience Jesus in that place, they should experience a touch from the Lord through you. You ought to present the Master to them.
Have the same compassion Jesus had towards sinners and unbelievers. Let this compassion well up in you and cause you to preach the gospel.
People are very important to God, He is concerned about the world. That is why the Bible says,
"For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16.
God so loved the world of men, God loved the whole world, then He sent Jesus to die for them. This shows you how important man is to God. God made a huge sacrifice by sending His only son so that man can receive salvation.
You must learn to always share with others, your friends, your neighbours, school mates and those in your neighbourhood, this great message of salvation. Jesus preached in the synagogue at a very tender age.
"And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers." Luke 2:46-47.
He was about His Father's business at a very tender age to the extent that His parents looked for Him.
It should be the same way with you. Learn to always be about your Heavenly Father's business.
Also be loving to others, kind, honest and respectful to everyone you meet.
"And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins." 1 Peter 4:8.
This is how they see Jesus in you. They should see His character built up in you. Reveal the excellence and compassion of Christ to your world everywhere you go. Hallelujah!
